TAF Academy 9th Graders kicked off the school year with a project about Career Awareness. Their goal is to build a learning community at TAF Academy where all students understand educational choices needed for their chosen career paths.
Their first assignment: Meet with REI CEO Sally Jewell on September 11 for an indoor adventure exploring REI’s corporate headquarters.
After meeting with Jewell, the students had a chance to interview a panel of employees from different departments about their college and career paths. Students toured the warehouse where products like sleeping bags are developed and tested for durability. They also visited the photo studio where staff photographers were busy taking pictures of models wearing the company’s products for use in catalogs.
